Summer 2020

The summer has arrived, the sky is blue and warm days are here. It is, however, likely to be a very different summer!

Since re-opening on June 2nd we have increased our indoor capacity slightly – we have found space to add an extra table for 4 people. All our tables are at least 1 metre apart, whether it be inside or outside. The current legislation also states that if you are moving about in the restaurant ie. waiting to be seated, visiting the bathroom etc you must wear a face mask. You must also, as much as possible, maintain a distance of more than 1 metre from us. For this reason we have closed off the area by the bar and will come to your table to handle payment.

The great news is that we have now put in our menu for the summer. There is a range of tapas, salads and main dishes. We have also introduced a “Planche Apero” – ideal to share with a friend over a glass of wine. Here is a link to the menu

The news has been good from the French government and bars and restaurants have been authorised to re-open from Tuesday 2 june 2020.

There are a number of new regulations which we will all have to observe. Tables must be at least 1 metre apart, so we have had to reduce the number of customers that we can accept. In the main body of the restaurant we have 3 tables set for a total of 8 customers. In the small room we have 2 tables of two and outside we have a table for 4 and two tables of 2.

If you enter the restaurant you must wear a mask over your mouth and nose. This can be removed once you are sat at the table. There is also a one-way system in the restaurant, so you will leave by a different door to the one you entered through. Hydroalcoholic gel is available for you to use.

We have produced a new menu and hope to expand it and change it as we progress through the summer. We are still offering our very popular take away service.

St Valentine’s

St Valentine’s, Friday 14th February 2020, is an opportunity for you to enjoy a special evening with us at the restaurant.  It is also a leap year, so ladies the ball is in your court! We had planned to create a “pop-up” restaurant at our home but we have had to change our plans.

The restaurant will be open on the friday evening of St Valentine’s and we will be serving a special menu.  The menu may also be available on saturday 15th but we cannot guarantee that at this stage.

There is the possibility to add a supplementary course of breaded scallops with leeks wrapped in nori for an additional 5€.

Christmas 2019

It is already December and Christmas is fast approaching!

This year the Prades Christmas market is scheduled for sunday december 15th and will be held in the Place de la Republique.  La Meridienne will be open at lunchtime with a special seasonal menu.  You will see that the menu shows our English roots – smoked salmon, prawns and turkey!

As usual we will be open for the evening of 24th December.  You can cjoose to have a 3 course menu or, if you prefer, add a fish course with scallops and a cheese course – it’s your choice!

Reservation is necessary and all reservations should be made by saturday 21st December.

Menu Winter 2019

Our Winter Menu is now published.  In order to keep everything as fresh as possible our menu during winter is shorter than our usual spring / summer menu.  We have kept a range of Tapas dishes and a great fixed price menu.

At lunchtime we still have our popular menu du jour from 13,50€ for 2 courses, in addition to our main menu.

Menu Spring Summer 2019

Our menu for spring summer 2019 is now available.  We have introduced some new dishes and kept some of our classic signature dishes.

Our policy is always to provide freshly cooked meals using quality ingredients and at the same time keeping a reasonable price.  This year we have a set menu at 20€ for starter, main and dessert (17,50€ for starter and main or main and dessert). In addition, our a la carte menu has a selection of tapas dishes which can be served either as tapas to make a meal or as starters.  For main courses there is a variety of meats and fish with sauces and accompaniments.

We can cater for special requests but please give us at least 24 hours notice. We will also write menus for groups / parties.
