Confinement – Round 2!

Unfortuantely as of Friday 30 October France has been plunged back into confinement. This means that all bars, restaurants and non-essential shops have had to close. The intitial time scale for the confinement – round 2 – is set at around 4 weeks. All being well we should be allowed out in the 1st December.

We are unable to welcome you into the restaurant during the confinement but we are offering our take away service, very much like we did back in the spring. We will be open mainly at lunchtimes and also saturday night. The menu will change regularly and I recommend that you visit our facebook page to stay up to date with menus and opening times.

I know that the confinement is inconvenient to everyone. If we can drive down the number of new coronavirus cases fairly quickly we should be able to come together for Christmas. In the meantime, I hope to see you for take away and stay safe.

Summer 2020

The summer has arrived, the sky is blue and warm days are here. It is, however, likely to be a very different summer!

Since re-opening on June 2nd we have increased our indoor capacity slightly – we have found space to add an extra table for 4 people. All our tables are at least 1 metre apart, whether it be inside or outside. The current legislation also states that if you are moving about in the restaurant ie. waiting to be seated, visiting the bathroom etc you must wear a face mask. You must also, as much as possible, maintain a distance of more than 1 metre from us. For this reason we have closed off the area by the bar and will come to your table to handle payment.

The great news is that we have now put in our menu for the summer. There is a range of tapas, salads and main dishes. We have also introduced a “Planche Apero” – ideal to share with a friend over a glass of wine. Here is a link to the menu
Have a great summer and stay safe!

The news has been good from the French government and bars and restaurants have been authorised to re-open from Tuesday 2 june 2020.

There are a number of new regulations which we will all have to observe. Tables must be at least 1 metre apart, so we have had to reduce the number of customers that we can accept. In the main body of the restaurant we have 3 tables set for a total of 8 customers. In the small room we have 2 tables of two and outside we have a table for 4 and two tables of 2.

If you enter the restaurant you must wear a mask over your mouth and nose. This can be removed once you are sat at the table. There is also a one-way system in the restaurant, so you will leave by a different door to the one you entered through. Hydroalcoholic gel is available for you to use.

We have produced a new menu and hope to expand it and change it as we progress through the summer. We are still offering our very popular take away service.

Here is a link to our current menu

Limited Opening

Further to our last post advising of a temporary closure, I am happy to say that we will be opening on a limited basis for take away orders.

Starting Saturday 4 April for lunchtime we will be offering a take away service. For this week it will be a 3 course menu of the day plus some paninis. We are hoping to extend our opening next week and should be offering lunch on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We are also planning to offer an Easter Sunday lunch. Due to the current coronavirus restrictions we are only able to offer take away.

Once we have seen how this weekend works for us we will publish a take away menu in addition to a menu of the day. The daily menu will be published on our facebook page at

The ordering process is simple. We will accept orders via SMS to our usual number, you may send us an email or send us a message through facebook. Please be as precise as possible with your order and the time you would like to collect. We will respond to you and give you a time for collection. Orders can be collected from the front door – unfortunately you are not allowed inside the restaurant. We accept card payments and cash.

Please be assured that we will operate to the highest hygiene standards and will provide our usual high standard of food and service.

Here is a link to our temporary take away menu. It is very likely to change regularly but I will endeavour to keep it updated here

Temporary Closure

As everyone is no doubt aware all the restaurants and bars in France have been ordered to close until, at least, 15th April.  There are exceptions to this if the restaurant offers a take away or delivery service.  We had seriously considered offering a take away only service but with the new heightened restrictions that came in to effect we feel it would not be viable for us and we also do not wish to place ourselves or our customers at risk.

We are currently at home, gradually eating the stock from the restaurant and making plans for when we are allowed to re-open.  As soon as this is possible we will be back with new menus and, possibly, a slightly new concept.

In the meantime please stay safe, observe the restrictions and together we will defeat this virus and come back stronger and better than ever!!

The Chinese New Year, or as it is also known, the Lunar New Year, takes place on saturday 25th january.  We are creating a special Chinese themed menu in the restaurant for the evening of the 25th.  Being conscious that is January and many people will have overspent during December we have priced this special evening at an incredible 20€.  There will be enough food to satisfy the largest of appetites!

If you would like to join us for the Chinese New Year on saturday 25th January you will need to reserve your place by wednesday 22nd January.

Moving into February, St Valentine’s on the 14th.  We are once again creating a “pop-up” restaurant at our home in Fuilla for a very special meal on the evening of the 14th.  We have a large space at the front of our house with panoramic views across to the Mount Canigou which we will endeavour to make as romantic as possible!

In addition to a very special meal we also have accommodation available in our garden apartment.  Here is a link
